Brewers Association State Government Affairs Director Sam DeWitt testified along with members of the Colorado Brewers Guild, the Colorado Restaurant Association, and others in the food and beverage profession to support House Bill 1282. The bill would exempt taxes and tips from credit and debit card swipe fees (2-4% per transaction), which has the potential to save small brewers tens of thousands of dollars per year. The bipartisan bill moved through the Judiciary Committee of the House, passed its floor votes, and as of this writing is awaiting hearing in the Senate.
